I am looking to start playing 6-person hard court, I would guess at
a competitive rec league level. I am 6', have the basic skills,
and learn quickly. I've played in a non-competitive rec league,
basically as an OH (we attempted a 6-2, but did not have the
skills/teamwork to utilize it effectively).

Also am interested in just practicing, if anyone needs an extra or
just wants to hit it around.

I'm 5'10" with a good vertical and I'm looking to play competitive 2x2 sand volleyball. I have played alot of competitive (A and BB level, Amateur Volleyball Association) sand 2x2, although very little in the last 8 months. I have solid all-around skills, but excel at defense and consistent play. I have also played competitive indoor 6's as an outside hitter (both 5-1 and 6-2 offenses). Anyone who wants to play vb, I'm ready to go.

I'm looking for a regular workout in the north Austin
area. I don't seem to be able to make it to Zilker
or Aussies as much as I'd like.

I've been playing 2's and 6's in Dallas and Austin
since '90, but since starting a family, I'm pretty
rusty. The last indoor (USAV) tourney I played was
BB, and we won. The last sand tourney I place was A,
but it was a while ago, I think.

Oh... I'm 6'2". Indoors, I can play middle at the BB
level, but at A or AA, I'm kinda small for that (I
know from too much experience.) I can play right at
A level (and left on a good day),
and I can set at BB or B level.

Outdoors, I prefer left. I can play right, but
I get much pickier about the set. I don't mind
serving and blocking.

I have another note posted here, but decided to update since
I am now in town. I am about 6 ft. tall and have been
playing sand VB for the last 4 years or so. I prefer the
right SLIGHTLY over the left, but can play both pretty much
equally. Looking for some regular games of 2's and 4's.

of my own and I need a setter. One with flexibility,
knowledge of the court/game, creativity, and hustle. I have
strong hitters and many defensive specialists but no setter.

I am a middle blocker, played collegiate four years and am
trying to go pro. In order to do that a good setter is
required. My expectations are a person who can play smart,
notice the weak links on the other teams, and have a never
say never attitude. You also need to have communication
skills.

not sure what level the ARC would put me at, I
can play at the A level. It has been about 4
years since I have played, so I am probably at
the BB level, but could get to the A level with
a few practice rounds. I enjoy volleyball for
the fun and exercise, but also enjoy the competitve
edge as well. I am very much a team player and
would love to play on a women's team this fall.

and female) to play in Shipe Park, 45th & Ave.F, Sunday evenings
about 5pm (later in Summer, earlier in winter). Typical games are
doubles or triples. We play strictly by the rules. All have that
"killer instinct", but change partners EVERY game.

Currently living in San Antonio, I haven't found any vball play down here yet.
Just moved to the area in late November.

I haven't played indoor for about 2 years, and my BB was with the USVBA. It's been awhile since I've played competitively indoors.
I'm originally from northern Indiana, and have played with some success against MPVA players.
I had a AA ranking in 2 man up there and maybe an A indoors. I'm currently looking for a serious A or better indoor team to play with to get my skills up to par and the fat off my belly! I will be rusty at first
but after time I can prove myself. I only played 1 open tournament in Florida this summer, and my partner and I failed miserably due to a lapse in skill. Please reply....

SAN ANTONIO! I know this is an Austin page, but there's no similar San antonio page so... I'm 6'2". I've only been playing for about two years now, but I think I'm getting pretty good. I'm not specifically an 'Indoor' or 'Outdoor' player. I've spent about the same time playing both. I just love to play! I played on my Base team the last two years as an OH/MH. I'm 5'7" with 4 yrs HS, 1 yr College (varsity "# of digs in 1 game" record holder), 1 yr asst. varsity coach (college level) and 1 year pick up game experience with Div 1 National Champ men. I'm short and husky, but I can set! I'm coming off of reconstructive
knee surgery (7-97) and would like to get back into some activity. With
this I think I would pretty much be limited to only setting, ie. 5-1
scheme... I have played in a couple of leagues (B level) and a lot of
open play before my surgery. Like I said before I'm just looking to get
back in the swing of things. Am very interested in any open play nights
where players are needed, especially male setters. But would also be

I'm 5'8" and at last count had a 23" vertical. In high school, I played middle for two years on varsity. During summer, I played with a co-ed team and became a strong off-side hitter as well. I gave up playing and a two-year full scholarship in order to attend UT and get my degree. I NEED to play. Volleyball has been my life for years. I'm interested in a full time team (co-ed or women's) and practicing 2-3 times a week, but would be glad to just be picked-up for any team.

Will be relocating to Austin from Chicago in mid-October 1998 and will be looking for a team - - interested in both co-ed and women's. Looking for league and tournament play. Last year registered for USAV BB, yet competed in A. Also played on numerous park district teams. Am a versatile player. Well adept at 5-1 or 6-2. Can set both men's and women's and hit (both strong and weak sides) and block well on women's and not as well on men's. Am smart player and enjoy defense also. 5'9" in height and haven't measured my vertical in years.
